Cooperstown, N.Y. – In recognition of National Depression Screening Day, Bassett Medical Center will be providing free screenings to members of the public on October 10.

What: Free and private screening with a Bassett psychotherapist in recognition of
National Depression Screening Day.

When: Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Who Can Participate: Screening is open to all adult members of the public ages 18 and up, regardless of whether they are a Bassett patient.

About Our Caregivers: Psychotherapists from Bassett’s Department of Psychiatry will assist in the screening.

Why: Many people cannot tell the difference between passing sadness, normal grief, or serious clinical depression. Our professionals can assist you in determining the difference. Participants will be asked to complete a simple evaluation form that will be reviewed with a therapist.

Appointments: Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. There is no cost for these screenings.
