Discounted Broadband/Phone for Qualifying Subscribers

Federal Lifeline discounts of up to $9.25 per month apply on a qualifying voice and / or broadband service, in qualifying service areas.  One discount may be applied per household.  All of our voice services include unlimited local calling and subscribers may select the long distance calling plan of their choice.  While we offer a qualifying broadband product throughout our service area, not all broadband services may qualify for lifeline.

DTC Lifeline Services

The Lifeline program is available to assist low-income consumers with their telecommunications and/or broadband needs.

The Lifeline program was designed to preserve and promote access to voice and broadband services to qualified low-income households. The program provides a monthly discount on qualifying services. The program provides a discount of up to $9.25 per month for broadband lines.  Phone only customers may receive a reduced discount until December 31, 2021.

Enrollment in Lifeline provides the following benefits:

– Waiver of universal service fee.

– Reduction in monthly residential line charge.

– Our phone service is unlimited to anywhere in the continental US States.

– Discounts against standard phone or Broadband rates.

Only one lifeline service is permitted per household. That includes lifeline services you may get from other providers.

Lifeline service is funded through fees collected from telecommunications carriers.

You must be able to provide proof of participation in a qualifying program or show that you meet the income guidelines.

You are eligible to enroll in the Lifeline program if you participate in one of the following:

– Medicaid

– Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

– Federal Public Housing (FPHA)

– Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

– Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefits

– Tribal Programs (and live on federally-recognized Tribal lands)

– Your household income is at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines.

To apply for Lifeline call 607-746-1500. You will be asked to provide proof of your eligibility by providing a copy of a document that verifies that you participate in any of the programs mentioned above. Your Lifeline benefits will take effect when proof of eligibility is received.

You will receive Lifeline Benefits until you either notify us that you are no longer qualified to participate or fail annual re-qualification.
