All proceeds will fund a yearly scholarship to 2 deserving OHS Graduates with musical passion & drive!

The 2015 Recipient of the Gary Johnson Memorial Scholarship Award: Sarah Horne!! Sarah was involved in many of the music programs at OHS including band, choir, pep band, jazz band, and pit band. She was in both All-County Band and Area All-State Band throughout high school and also competed in the NYSSMA Solo Festival regularly.Sarah is now attending the University of New Haven to study Sports Management and is also involved with the university pep band as well as the concert band.

The 2016 Recipient of the Gary Johnson Memorial Scholarship Award: Rory Decker!! Rory attends King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania for neuroscience, in hopes that she will research and find better treatment, or even a cure, for Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

The 2017 Recipient of the Gary Johnson Memorial Scholarship Award: Numfor Mibiziwo-Tiapo attends Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to major in Computer Science, which will take him one step closer toward his dream of becoming a software engineer.

The 2018 Recipients (2) of the Gary Johnson Memorial Scholarship Award: Shane Miller who attends Wilkes University and Hunter Roy who attends SUNY Geneseo and plans to double major in International Relations and Sociology and minor in Spanish with a career goal of working in the United Nations or Peace Corps. She is a member of the Edgar Fellows Program (the college’s Honors Program). She also hopes to be a part of the school’s percussion ensemble or concert band.
