Delaware Opportunities is our September 2026 Community Spotlight.

For more than 60 years, Delaware Opportunities, Inc. has been making a difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout Delaware County. Founded in 1965, this nonprofit Community Action Agency is dedicated to helping neighbors overcome challenges, build stability, and create brighter futures. Through programs such as Head Start and Early Head Start, housing and energy assistance, food and nutrition support, transportation, weatherization, employment and self-sufficiency services, domestic violence advocacy, and Social Care Navigation, Delaware Opportunities connects people with the resources they need to thrive. At the heart of everything they do is a simple commitment: meet people where they are, treat everyone with dignity and respect, and help create opportunities for a stronger community.

Location & Hours
Delaware Opportunities is located at 35430 State Highway 10, Hamden, New York. Hours of operation are Monday–Thursday from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Their team is dedicated to being accessible and connecting community members with the support and resources they need.
