Special Service for Speech and Hearing Impaired

Speech and Hearing Impaired customers of DTC are able to call anyone at any telephone number in New York State.
The New York Relay Service relays calls between a person using a TDD (telecommunications device for the deaf) and anyone they wish to communicate with. The service also works in reverse, allowing a person with a telephone to call a TDD user. Specifically trained personnel are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to relay calls. There is no extra charge to use this service.
Long Distance or locally charged calls placed through the New York Relay Service will be billed at the rates of the long distance carrier of choice.
Toll free 800 numbers are available to use the service or to obtain additional information.
